The Colonial Golf Course is a public 27-hole golf facility located in Hart, Michigan. The facility has an 18-hole course, The Colonial Championship Course, and a 9-hole course, The Heritage Nine.
The Colonial Golf Course first opened for play in 1999. The course was designed by Jeff Gorney.
What you see is what you get with the Championship Course at Colonial. The holes are mostly straightforward but there are some doglegs. The golf course begins with a particularly tricky dogleg. The course has a nice mix of short and long holes, offering plenty of variety throughout. Strategically placed bunkers guard the greens, demanding accurate shot placement and careful course management.

On vacation this week and always try to play here every other year. Always have very good playing conditions, generous landing areas, many tree lined fairways and great sand in all the traps protecting every green. Playing 6,859yds / 73.6 / 130 from the tips will give every club a chance to see action. The four (4) doglegs on the front 9 will test your carry to the corners and only one (1) dogleg on the back, #11 Par 5 to give you troubles. The #12 Par 3 at 240yds will give you all you can handle and Don't miss left or big number will surface. Paid $23 / cart for the Senior rate (Normal M-F $28) and shot 36/39 w/29 putts and look forward to returning next year.

Back in this area for vacation and decided to give this 1999 Jeff Gorney another play and review. Having weekly rainstorms this year has made it easy to keep landing and rough areas very green and full coverage. Greens are rolling true (8-9) and in great shape without any burn marks anywhere. Sand traps were recently power fluffed and very east to blast out from, this I'm very familiar with. We played from the Whites (6,247 / 69.6 / 118) this morning with a good balance of yardage (2,962yds) on each side for a Par 36/36. Found the course in great shape and yardage markers (200-100) easy to find but be careful on those doglegs for hitting through the corners. We all shot in the 80's except for Tom T who had 79 w/two Birdies. I had 87 w/33putts with my five (5) O.B.'s the main cause of my downfall.......But that's Golf. This is a must play course if you're in the area on vacation and you won't be disappointed.
